Welcome to the Charlotte
& William Bloomberg
Medford Public Library

The new 45,000 sq ft building, which was constructed on the current location after the old facility was demolished, doubled the usable square footage, is fully ADA compliant, is LEED gold certified.

The two-story building offers Medford residents a 100-person multi-purpose meeting room; a maker space; a tech lab; a local history room; separate reading rooms for adults, teens, and children; and other amenities. The first floor reception area features a tesserae glass mosaic, Stacks, created by NYC-based Puerto Rican artist Glendalys Medina.

The library is crowned with a 700-panel solar array and is designed to generate as much energy as it uses, making the CWBMPL the first net-zero library in the commonwealth of Massachusetts, and the thirteenth net-zero public library in the nation.
